Lightning Motorcycles was founded in 2006 with the vision to create world-class electric motorcycles that could compete with traditional internal combustion engine motorcycles and deliver superior rider experience. Our strategy is developing key electric vehicle technologies that enable us to bring to market products that charge faster, go farther, and have better performance than competitors.
The team at Lightning spent 9 years developing our technologies through testing, validation and competition. During this period, Lightning also provided engineering services to other EV companies. Lightning has set the land speed record 218 mph becoming the world’s fastest production electric motorcycle. The most recent innovation is the Lightning XFC 10 minute 24 kWh fast charge solution.
Lightning began delivery of LS-218 in late 2015 and the Strike in 2019 followed by the Strike R in 2022. Our electric motorcycles offer the best performance, longer range, fastest charging and an exceptional rider experience compared to our competitors. To meet different riding preferences, we have 3 new models in the final phase of prototyping.
